What makes something boring to you? We tend to label things, actions, and sometimes even people as boring, but why do we use this particular word instead of others? Is 'boring' a feeling, a quality, or both?
During our Pilot Program at OC 2019 we invited the participants to explore their relationship to the idea of 'the boring' through art. At the end of the project, the participants took part in workshops by local artists Glenda Heiliger and Osaira Muyale where they used art as a medium for self-reflection. This online exhibition is a presentation of the participants' ideas, opinions, and the works they inspired.
Following the protocols of the Orthopedagogical Center and to guarantee the participants' wellbeing, we will not show participants' faces or disclose their full names.

Cu e tema 'laf' nos kier a usa un experiencia familiar pa e participantenan por reflexiona riba con nan ta compronde nan ambiente.
We chose 'boring' as a theme because it is a relatable life experience through which the participants could reflect on some of the aspects of their daily life at the Center.

One of the many roles the arts play in our societies is to convey meanings and make them tangible. This ability allows the experience and production of art to be useful tools for non-verbal communication within the education and health sectors. Organizations such as UNESCO highlight art's positive impact on our wellbeing and encourage its wide accessibility. It is important to recognize that these kinds of cultural and social collaborations are fruitful opportunities for the development of more inclusive and engaged communities.
